Cross' Album Cover

After I took this pic, I thought, "Wow, that looks like an album cover pic!". HAHA!

Last Saturday I took a big blanket outside and put it down on our deck and we had a picnic without the food. haha. It was so nice, we just played with some toys and enjoyed the sounds of the end of summer. The weather was perfect, so mild. Unfortunately it's been raining ever since! Below are some more photos I took that day.

Crawling is for Babies!

Cross had decided that he'd rather walk than crawl, because crawling is like for babies or something. haha. He started pulling up and cruising at the end of his 7th month and has been steadily perfecting his art. Now he's using his walker to run around the living room chasing Suki. That's a little early for 8 months, isn't it? He's amazing us! Here is a video.

Rubber duckie, you're the one :)

Not sure why I'm having a hard time getting this collage bigger....but regardless I had to share the cuteness!
Oh, and we now have tooth #2 :)

Suki is 2 years old!

Happy Birthday Suki! For Suki's 2nd birthday we decided to go to the Bark-ery and get her a little birthday cake. All of the Bark-ery's healthy treats are made for dogs with natural products that are free of corn, wheat, soy, and sugar. And don't worry, she didn't eat the whole thing...just a slice! :)

Flip Video!

Happy Anniversary! For our 2nd anniversary we decided to get a Flip Video camera. Awesome purchase!!! So easy to use, so little and lightweight, and excellent quality video at 720p (that's TV/Movie quality!). I LOVE it! And the price is great for a video camera - only $199! We've already used it a lot. I take it with me in the diaper bag because it's as small as a cell phone. We knew we needed to do something when we only had 1 hour of video for Cross' first 6 months. We can also share videos much easier as well as burn DVDs.

Oh yes, and I forgot to mention earlier... We have a TOOTH! And a second one on it's heels!

Ode to Cross

It's hard to believe that it's been 7 months since Cross was born. What's even more amazing are the changes he's gone through in such a short period of time.
Here are some fun facts about Cross.
Cross.....
1) Can sit up unassisted (but still with a spotter)
2) Is starting to put his hand down to support himself for balance when sitting
3) Loves to stand
4) Loves green beans
5) Can army crawl on the floor...fast too
6) Laughs hysterically outloud
7) Has a great sense of humor
8) Could hold is own bottle if it weren't glass
9) Is obsessed with Suki-dog
10) Loves anything yellow - I think duckies are his theme
11) Loves it when you sing to him
12) Tries to crocodile roll when he's on the changing table
13) Loves the ladies
14) Doesn't complain when he's hurt
15) Loves his Exersaucer

He's doing something new every day! And is really starting to keep us on our toes! :)

Random pics....

hehe :)

Our little "Jestor"....

Get it...Jess plus Victor...

He's so photogenic and loves to get his picture taken.

Cross was 12 lbs and 23 inches at his 2 month appt. That was the 50th percentile for both height and weight. The doctor was very impressed since he went from the 10th percentile up to the 50th. He's a very strong boy! His head circumference also went up from the 10th to 50th percentile and the doc said he was a very smart boy by his interactions and head growth. But we knew that...hehe :) Pretty good stats for arriving almost a month early!

Cross has been rolling from tummy to back for the past several weeks and has been repeatedly saying what sounds like "good" or "I'm good". I tell him what a good boy he is constantly and I think he's picked it up!

Today Cross is 12 weeks old....wow, how time flies. He will be officially 3 months old on March 5th. He will be going back to the doc the week after next for his 3 month vaccine. He got 2 vaccines during his 2 month appt. We're spacing them out a bit and taking the Pediatrician's recommendation on not getting the Rotavirus vaccine and delaying any kind of flu vaccine until after 2 years old. So far we really like his doc and that he really keeps current on his research.

Ok, my baby is next to me talking to get my attention. hehe! Talk with you soon!

That's my Boy!

Cross is all smiles these days! He's really starting to interact. He's reaching for things and grasping. He notices his mobile and the art on the wall. He also loves the dots on his bedding. It's so cute to see him reaching and touching these things. He gets so excited and his little legs are just kicking and he's making noises. He's using his tongue and voicebox and trying to talk...hehe. I love this little guy.

Cross will be 2 months old on Thursday - Feb 5th! Shout out to Taylor since her 1st Birthday is also on Feb 5th! Cross would also like to wish his late great-Papaw P a Happy Birthday today - Feb 2nd.

Cross has a doctor's appointment on Friday. We're trying to decide if we are going to get the full vaccine set during that time or go with a more delayed schedule. We have more research to do this week before we make that final decision. Needless to say it's going to be hard seeing him get shots to matter how many there are! I'll probably cry more than him. Whew!

We are still with power, thank goodness! Luckily the utility lines in our neighborhood are buried and I'm betting that had a lot to do with the fact we never lost power. We are so grateful and blessed!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

When I See you Smile...

Cross has been a camera ham while we've been stuck in the house. The weather here is crazy. Over 36,000 people in our city are without power due to an ice storm. We are so blessed that we haven't lost our electricity! I couldn't imagine being without it with a newborn. Keep us in your thoughts!

Happy New Year!

We hope everyone has a Happy New Year!!

We made sure to introduce Cross to some New Year's traditions today. We hung out our money bags before midnight and ate the Cooked Cabbage, Black Eyed Peas, and Smoked Jowl dinner on New Year's Day. Well, we ate that..not Cross...LOL :) Anyone else have any New Year's traditions?
